YEARNING FOR UNIQUE
"everything old is new again" or so the saying goes. And I suppose this is why I am s disenchanted with every choice available to me at the cinema. Out of all the available movie choices - the only one I might go see is "Ray" staring Jamie Foxx. Topically, it's nothing I am interested in - however I suspect his performance will make the movie worthwhile.
Of course, I could go see "Birth" Nicole Kidman's latest bad choice in movies to appear in - but contreversy does not a movie make. She was terrible in the equally terrible "Stepford Wives" remake - a movie with plot holes large enough to drive Mac trucks through. *yawn* there is nothing out there right now.
The Grudge - no way I am seeing this. Poor Sarah Michelle Gellar - typecast as Buffy forever. I can't picture her as a scared victim. Damn, I love Buffy.
Friday Night Lights - um. no.
Garden State - this is another maybe. It's the kind of movie that you go and see when everyone you are with decides to go see a movie and it is the most appealing option. Not good - just acceptable.
Ladder 49 - Oh please. Backdraft with uglier actors
Saw - I'm getting to old for gratuitous freaky. Content! I demand content!
Surving Christmas - It probably could have been like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - but nothing staring Ben Affleck could involve the brilliance of wrapped cat and jello dish giving.
Shaun of The Dead - OK, I admit it...I forgot about this one pre-lament. I'd see it.
Shall We Dance - Middle-aged chick flick. Predictable. Predictable. Let me give this one away for you - it's gonna have a happy ending.
Taxi - Please Queen Latifah - you have more talent than to allow yourself to star in these movies. Jimmy Fallon - never, ever funny.
Wow, with all this whining, I feel better already.
I'll probably end up at home this weekend, taping-off my dining room for painting and watching Hellboy. It's all a whiny-one like me deserves :)
